The Compliance function in a leading bank in Zambia was reviewed and a blueprint for a new organisation was made, looking at the ever increasing demands by local and international regulators. The project included a review of the staff requirements, the IT infrastructure and the misson/mandate of the Compliance Department. Suggestions for implementation of Vanyard's recommendations were made and the bank is now "up-to-date" on the Compliance front.

The country and counterparty risk analysis framework for a NL based fund was established in order to better manage exposures arising from the fund's activities in Africa. This includes a framework for analyzing political and macro risks, but also an individual bank balance sheet analysis methodology. The work included the training of staff and writing/reviewing procedures and manuals.  The project's results were approved by the fund's board of directors and investors.
